1 – Create a list of questions about your loan program

Make sure to bring a list of questions if you do not thoroughly comprehend the advantages and disadvantages of all the different programs. It is hard to understand the characteristics of both fixed and adjustable rate mortgages. One of my lenders or I will be able to help you understand the advantages and disadvantages of both.

2 – Determine when to lock

When you lock in a rate, it indicates that the lender holds to the mortgage interest rates for the loan – generally at the time the loan application is submitted. By floating the rate, you can lock the rate anytime between the day you apply for your loan and issuance of closing documents. 3 – Determine if you want to pay additional points to decrease your rate
